Romania, "still wild and free." Pristine nature and unparalleled hospitality. Between the Retezat National Park in Transylvania and the Apuseni Mountains lie some of the country's most famous and popular paragliding areas.

With launch sites at around 1100 meters above sea level and an altitude difference of up to 700 meters, there's plenty of time for a comfortable entry into the first thermal. The areas offer excellent thermal conditions. Beginners can practice on the gentle hills, while experienced cross-country pilots can use the high peaks of the Retezat Mountains as their playground. The numerous landing spots in the wide valleys offer opportunities for carefree cross-country adventures. Even in strong winds, flights can be enjoyed along small soaring ridges until sunset.

During morning briefings, we review the weather forecast for the day. Then we head up the mountain, where the pilots can circle in thermals after takeoff. As always, the focus is on the enjoyment of flying.

We then end the evening with cool drinks in the company of the local population and their hearty delicacies.
